“Free parking needs work”

The staff worked well with me and even upgraded my room, but the club next door and the junior suite were disappointing.

The hotel is beautiful and historic, with very clean and spacious rooms and kind staff, yet it sits in a very scary part of town. I have travelled a lot on my own and do not get scared easily, but I would not recommend this hotel to a single female traveller unless she has a car.

“This is not three star it is a one star hotel.”

The place is not clean, smells like large air fresheners covering up the odor, the bed is horribly soft with no springs, and there are broken items in the room. Hairs are on the sheets, the coffee maker is dirty and rusty, and the night staff who checked me in had pink eye and passed it to me through key cards and products sold to me. The hotel is not well maintained, the furniture is dirty, the bath plug didn’t work, and there was a large hair on the bed that wasn’t from my ethnicity. The bed was awful, so soft with no spring whatsoever.

“It’s a grand hotel and worth a visit.”

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful and polite; this was my fifth visit to Hotel Lafayette. I think they need to do a bit of maintenance and repairs to their rooms. Our room showed a lot of wear: the table and desk tops were rough, some baseboards were damaged, a towel rack was missing in the bathroom, and there was a used bar of soap in the bathroom. Having said that, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice. I would stay there again, but the room needed repairs to the furniture and floor molding.
