Ammonite Lodge in Chard is a 4-star guest house housed in a historic building. The lodge features a sun terrace, garden with outdoor seating, and garden views. Rooms include private bathrooms, bathrobes, free WiFi, TV, and work desks. Breakfast options include continental, full English/Irish, vegetarian, and gluten-free. Located 21 km from Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and 40 km from Exeter International Airport, near Golden Cap and Woodlands Castle.

It was annoying to have to walk out of your room onto a landing to reach the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The hotel sits right next to shops and local amenities, which was convenient for us when we arrived Saturday afternoon; however, if you’re staying on a weekday, parking could be a real hassle.

No positives to mention. The room was unusable for anyone taller than 5’2” because of a low ceiling beam, and the whole property felt very tired.
