Located in Shibushi, the Shibushiwan Daikoku Resort Hotel offers direct beachfront access and breathtaking sea views. The hotel features air-conditioned rooms with modern amenities, including baths, bidets, and refrigerators. Guests can unwind by the seasonal outdoor pool, hot spring bath, or sauna. On-site parking and a restaurant serving Japanese and Western cuisine are available, along with a public bath and daily housekeeping service.

The hotel is so well equipped that you can stay indoors all the time and still have fun; because of a foot injury I didn’t leave for two nights, enjoying the view from the room, the seawater onsen, and meals in the restaurant. The building and interior use a lot of stone, giving a heavy feel, and cleaning is thorough; even though the facilities are a bit old, it didn’t bother me, though the PR song playing in the entrance hallway had a distinct Showa‑era vibe.

The staff were very friendly, formal and helpful—always smiling! The facilities and the Shibushiwan Daikokou were amazing, with the spa and hot spring as an added bonus, and I highly recommend anyone check them out. The scenery from the balcony was stunning, overlooking Shibushi Bay. Walking around the hotel felt great, and the room was excellent too. I’m not a huge fan of seafood, so keep that in mind when booking because the breakfast was heavily seafood‑oriented, though there were rice, fruit, juice, and coffee options that were a great help. There was also a great wee shop inside the hotel with some great snack options.

The spot is fantastic, the food is very tasty, and the rooms are kept impeccably clean; although most staff are from Nepal, the service was excellent. I wish there were more vending machines and better placement of them.

The staff were extremely friendly, kind and helpful, especially Dipika and her colleagues who guided us to our rooms and explained everything about the hotel. A gentleman at reception also helped us arrange a taxi to Shibushi city center, and the reception staff always had a smile on their face and were very welcoming. The location is excellent, with rooms facing the endless Pacific Ocean, and you can literally hear the waves which can help you fall asleep. The facilities include a natural onsen facing the ocean. The restaurant, Sushi Master, is immensely talented and served us the best sushi.
