We turned up late at night with a confirmed reservation, only to find the doors locked and nobody around. The key box they mentioned was nowhere to be seen, and the locals hinted the place is usually closed. After a few frantic calls, the manager finally answered, then just hung up on us. In the end we had to scramble for another place in the middle of the night.

The countryside around the property is lovely, but the building itself is a mess—walls soaked in cigarette smoke and a lot of wear and tear. The room was missing several items that were listed in the guide, and I certainly didn’t expect luxury from a former nature school. On the plus side, the sheets were clean, the showers gave warm water, and the heating actually worked, so you can survive a night if you’re desperate.

I’d have paid at most 250 CZK for this spartan‑style lodging, not the 700 CZK they charged. The beds are old and uncomfortable, the amenities are pretty weak, and there isn’t even a kitchen to use. Basically, it feels like a cheap hostel that’s overpriced.
