Breakfast was very good, particularly the eggs with their golden‑orange yolks. The room was compact yet comfortable and well equipped, and the ground‑floor accommodation was easily accessible and situated in a very peaceful setting. The market garden area was a unique feature that added interest with its home‑grown produce on the menu.

The team was incredibly friendly and helpful. Because we had an early departure we missed breakfast, but we received coffee and sandwiches for the road. We stayed in a family room that turned out to be two rooms, which was fantastic. A few spider webs here and there were present, probably due to the time of year.

A truly lovely place. I wasn’t expecting it to be this nice since I didn’t do much research, but it is really beautiful, the staff are amazing, and the food is superb. There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like.

The staff member who welcomed me on arrival and assisted throughout my stay was extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was beautiful and comfortable, with a good selection of tea and water. The fan was very welcome, and the bathroom was clean and well stocked. The food and drink in the pub were great, and overall the atmosphere was excellent. Although I was there for work, I would definitely stay for pleasure and visit the area, which is beautiful. The Wi‑Fi connection was very slow.

We were walking from Reading to Southampton on the Camino Ingles, a route that doesn’t always have accommodation along the way. This pub sat on another long‑distance path, the Wayfarers Way, which connects to the Camino, so it was convenient for us. The room was small but the shower was excellent. There were no biscuits with the tea and coffee offered in the room; after five hours of walking we would have appreciated a biscuit with our cup of tea.
