Located on Keswick's main street, The Kings Arms Hotel offers easy access to the Lake District, just a 10-minute walk from Derwentwater. Each room features a private bathroom, modern or classic décor, and a TV. The hotel serves full English breakfasts and traditional British dishes in its restaurant, and offers an open fire in the Lounge Bar, along with light meals, snacks, and real ales.

The hotel sits right in the middle of the main town square, with public parking just a few hundred metres behind; the room was comfortable, the bed was very comfy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed here for two years straight and have already booked for next year. Service can be a bit slow at breakfast, but we weren’t in a hurry and didn’t mind.

The location was perfect for us, right in the centre of Keswick. The evening meal was superb in the cozy dining room and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. The breakfasts were excellent, and even though I don’t eat full English there were plenty of other options. Parking for our car was sorted out efficiently, and we couldn’t fault our stay; reception even extended our parking for a couple of hours so we could look around the market. Maybe a room on a lower floor, because the stairs to room number 8 were a bit of a challenge for two people in their 70s.
