“Geriatric trying to be young”
The hotel seems to be stuck in an identity crisis: it tries to present itself as a trendy, modern spa destination, yet the overall feel and especially the staff’s habits are more like a traditional health spa for older generations, straight out of the 1980s. The branding promises a modern, stylish experience, but the service culture doesn’t quite match that image. On the bright side, the room was really nice, clean, and well equipped, with everything in good order and no complaints about the accommodation itself. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was disappointing; about an hour before the advertised finish time many plates and food stations were already empty, and some drinks were no longer available. Breakfast service should be maintained until the advertised finishing time. The pool facilities also left us with mixed feelings: about 15 minutes before closing time guests were already being rushed through the process of leaving, while the lifeguard was walking through the women’s changing rooms as guests were still getting changed. This felt uncomfortable and inappropriate. If the facilities are advertised as open until a certain time, guests should be given reasonable time to finish changing and leave comfortably; otherwise the closing time should be adjusted to allow for an orderly departure without making guests feel rushed or intruded upon. Overall, the hotel has potential, and the rooms are certainly a strong point. However, the service culture and attention to detail don’t quite live up to its modern image. Better breakfast organisation and a more considerate approach to closing the pool facilities would significantly improve the experience. Breakfast and pool staff were a disappointment.
