“Paid in thousands for something worth just a few hundreds.”
The dinner—Dal and rice—was fine, and the server was polite. Breakfast was dry paranthas, and the owner tried to charge us a small fee for butter and curd, which we paid for a very small amount. The lobby smelled bad, the rooms were dingy with no proper ventilation—windows lacked jalis, and the property is right next to a road and a nala, so mosquitoes and traffic noise are an issue. The ventilation windows open inward, the blanket was torn from overuse, and the sheets, though white, seemed questionable. Bathroom tiles were broken, the washbasin drain leaked, the toilet smelled, there was no exhaust fan or window, the shower tap was broken, and the toilet ventilation was oddly placed in the room. It was a lot to worry about.
