“Pleasant place, wonderful staff, likely among the top places to stay in Lira.”

We only spent one night at Brownstone, so it’s hard to judge fully, but the staff were the highlight—friendly and helpful. The food was good, and having it delivered to the room was a nice touch. The compound feels pleasant, well kept, and peaceful. It’s on the higher end of the price range and could be a bit more competitive, but we’d stay again because it’s probably the best place in Lira. It’s not the easiest to find and you might think you’ve taken a wrong turn, so arrive before dark.

Breakfast and the location are great. The bungalows show that Lira isn’t exactly a tourist hotspot—somewhat stale and a bit worn—but the staff are extremely friendly and the relaxed vibe is superb.

This place was surprisingly quiet, super well maintained, and on the outskirts of Lira—a great stop on the way to or from Kidepo NP, with a lovely tranquil garden for breakfast. The smaller cabins are a bit cramped, but that only matters if you’re on a honeymoon.

The staff were friendly, with Brenda always ensuring I felt comfortable and well looked after, and the owners were welcoming and helpful; the breakfast was exceptional, and everything else was perfect.
