The host Sonya was delightful, the swim in the green lake was refreshing, the many fruit trees added charm, the ibex perched on the rock face above us was a highlight, the whole place had a quaint feel, and the location was unique as the only property on the disused old road past the Areni caves.
The accommodation is superb. The environment is quiet and the owner is a wonderful, helpful lady. There is a bit of noise from passing cars, but only when you’re near the lake, especially in the mornings.
Sonia made us feel at home and treated us with great kindness and friendliness; absolutely recommended.
Sonia, the lady who works there, was very kind and the location is good. However, the rooms need improvement. There were cobwebs in several spots, making it look like they hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly for a while. We had a very strange encounter before we left. Sonia came over and said a spoon was missing. She got upset and asked us to help look for it. We searched everywhere and told her we had returned exactly the same spoons that had been provided. We needed to leave, but she kept insisting that we find the missing spoon. She even suggested one of our children might have taken it and asked us to check their backpacks. We agreed to show her because we knew they hadn’t taken anything. A few minutes later, she came back and said the missing spoon had been found. It was a very uncomfortable situation, especially since we had been accused before it was confirmed that nothing was missing. We even offered to pay for the spoon so we could leave, but we simply didn’t know how else to resolve the situation. I felt sad that such a small item caused so much distress. The place has a good location, but keep in mind that it is close to the road, so there may be some traffic noise. I can’t speak for the other rooms, but the mattresses in ours were very old and really need to be replaced. The room also needed a more thorough cleaning before welcoming guests.
