Breakfast was very good. At check‑in there were discrepancies with the rooms at reception. I had booked a double room for two people and a single room for one person, but the double room was listed for one person in my booking, even though it was for two. We ended up paying about 40 € more for that room, which I thought was incorrect.

The place sits in a great spot, perfect for visiting Apolda, and the walk to the main sights is short; the staff were very friendly and helpful, though the bathroom in this room had a bathtub with a shower but no separate shower.

The location is central and the staff are professional and flexible, offering a very early check‑in when a room is available, yet the hotel feels a bit dated and the parking is expensive.

The staff were very friendly and attentive, but the bathroom only had a tub with a sparse shower partition, making it hard for older guests to get in and out; if the hotel offers rooms with a separate shower, that should be listed as an option when booking.

The hotel’s location is great, and all the process information is accessible via QR code, but when we dined in the dark a lit courtyard and pond would have improved the ambience.
