The spot was stunning right on the river, with large comfortable rooms and amazing balcony views, and the restaurant was good. However, the room had some worn spots, furniture needed updating as some drawers wouldn’t open or close, there was no safe, security was weak because doors could be opened from the outside with a credit card, and the balcony could be accessed from the building’s side.

The staff were very friendly, but in room 102 the bathroom needs a little update and the doorknob is broken.

Everything was excellent, and the nearby Flow café is a real bonus for this hotel. It’s easy to get to and serves quality Western food. The only drawback is that there’s no elevator to carry my luggage, but that wasn’t a problem because there was only one floor to climb.

The hotel has a somewhat old colonial charm that we love! The terrace is pleasant and overlooks the Mekong. The hotel’s restaurant, Flow, is very good and is where you’ll have breakfast. The rooms are spacious, with polished teak parquet. The price is great. We had a direct view of the Lao city celebrating the Chinese New Year, and we witnessed an uninterrupted 8‑hour fireworks display—yes, you read that right, and I’m not exaggerating 😊. The only thing missing is an extra pool with a Mekong view, which would be the ultimate addition.
