I was picked up by ferry, had a pleasant welcome chat and a beautiful room. For dinner I received help booking a suitable restaurant. The traditional breakfast I requested was exceptionally tasty, and I was brought back to the ferry and truly warmly said goodbye. A completely lovely experience, and I also liked the island scenery a lot. There is nothing to mention.

The room is spacious, the wooden interior feels nice, and the floor is more comfortable to walk on than regular flooring. The view from the window overlooking Iriomote Island is great and gives a sense of openness. Water is provided in bottles in the room, and because you can refill them, the usual island water problem is gone. The AC works well and was cool, which is expected but still worth praising. Also, having a car shuttle to the harbor outside of check‑in/out was a nice touch. I think it’s a contractor issue, but the bath drain doesn’t have a trap, so if you don’t close the tap, sewer smell comes through. People who mind this will notice when showering.

I had such a wonderful stay at カーリー商會 and couldn’t have asked for a better first experience on Kohama Island. The room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The beach is only about a two-minute walk away, with beautiful views that made every morning and evening feel special. I was lucky that the typhoon had just passed before my arrival, so everything went perfectly according to plan. Emiko-san, the owner, truly made this stay unforgettable. She kindly picked me up from the port, took me to the bicycle rental shop so I could start my island adventure, and even helped me reserve tables at the wonderful izakaya next door and an incredible Italian restaurant. Her hospitality made traveling solo feel so easy and welcoming. The breakfasts she prepared were some of the best I’ve ever had during my travels. Everything was fresh and delicious, but I especially loved her homemade pickled mangoes—they were absolutely unforgettable!. Nothing. Everything was perfect for me!
