“Tres bien, petit-déjeuner déjeuner”
The calm, silence, and beauty of the medieval village were great, but there was no television.
“Un bel emplacement ...sans plus”
The location was great, but the reception felt cold and very unempathetic toward cyclists; the bike parking was poorly lit, making us feel like we were bothering everyone.
“Chambre agréable et accueil navrant !!!”
The room was comfortable, roomy, and reasonably priced for that time of year, and the hotel’s location was excellent. The front desk was not only unpleasant but also hostile; we called in the morning to ask if we could leave our luggage before the check‑in time, around 15:30, and were told we could drop it off whenever because the room had not been booked the previous night and was therefore ready. When we arrived the door was locked, we knocked, and the gentleman who opened it said he was resting and would only open at 17:00. After explaining our earlier call, he replied that because we were insistent the conflict would be resolved quickly by canceling our reservation and that it was foolish to book via Booking and pay more. He did, however, hand us the keys and said, “see you on 20 August.” He must have been referring to the hotel’s closing date!

This quirky old building tucked away off the main square in Nant is within easy reach of everything you need to enjoy this lovely medieval town; it’s clean, comfortable, and the team is very helpful and cheerful. We dined outside in a quiet courtyard, enjoying a good dinner of seared meats and veggies, and the pear crumble was delicious. Don’t miss walking around town and seeing the XIV‑century bridge over the Dourbie.
