Penthouse Suite 9 at Palazzo Seraphim, St Julians

The biggest strength of this apartment is its location: right in the heart of San Julian’s, close to the sea, restaurants and nightlife, letting you fully enjoy the city. The two terraces are pleasant, even though there’s a significant view‑to‑view. The common areas are nice, with a large kitchen for cooking. Free Wi‑Fi. A decent pool to cool off. The condition of the accommodation is simply catastrophic, almost uninhabitable. Mold on the walls, blackened and degraded bathroom grout, broken windows, damaged soap dish, mildew‑covered shower curtain and wobbly fixtures. Signs of wear and neglect are everywhere! On top of that, horrible back‑ups from the plumbing with urine and fecal smells even though we were on the top floor. General cleanliness was far from adequate, as the photos show. Sleep was affected; the sheets were clean, but the mattresses were stained underneath and far too firm, feeling like sleeping on a stone slab. The air‑conditioning unit sits right above the double bed, so it quickly gets cold and the noise fluctuates.

The location was good, but there were no chairs on the balcony, it was dirty, the windows were dirty, and the balcony floor was dirty.

“Stay away from this place unless you like being sweaty all night. Reported issues first day, ignored”

The only thing I could say positively was that the room had a mini fridge; otherwise it was very underwhelming. For the £1200 we paid for three adults and an 11‑year‑old, I wouldn’t stay again. The air‑conditioning was dreadful, the beds uncomfortable, the pool was covered in moss, the room was cleaned only three times in seven days, the bunk beds were falling apart, and the child had to sleep on a mattress in the front room because she feared the beds would snap. There was a huge uphill walk up two big hills to the apartment and six flights of stairs in 35‑degree heat—unless you’re extremely fit, don’t stay here. I’ve stayed in nicer hostels. I contacted the manager on the first day to report a broken shower head that wouldn’t stay up, and a week later it was still not fixed.

“I do NOT recommend this hotel!”

The kitchen and living room area were nice. The accommodation was not as described and had several serious issues: the air conditioning didn’t work properly and the room temperature stayed above 30 °C even at night. We had repeated power problems, a malfunctioning shower, mold in the room, a dirty mattress, and exposed electrical sockets, raising hygiene and safety concerns. Despite reporting these problems to the host during our stay and giving multiple chances to fix them, no proper action was taken; the host was very unhelpful.

“Super !”

L’emplacement était super, la piscine était extra et l’ambiance de l’hôtel était top. L’interdiction de l’usage de la cuisine après 18h, les toilettes dans notre appart fuyait, pas mal de fourmis dans l’appart et le contact avec l’établissement était pas toujours facile
