“Room was good size and location was good. We don’t recommend eating there.”
The room was a decent size and the bathroom had good lighting. The picture window by the bed—ours faced the mountains—was huge and offered a spectacular view of the stars at night. The staff were friendly, and getting to Joshua Tree National Park from the hotel was straightforward. On the downside, the breakfast and dinner menus were very limited, and coffee ranged from $8 to $12 for an Americano, cappuccino, or latte. I was surprised, because a Starbucks on Hwy 62 sold two coffees for $6.50. There is no on‑site restaurant; the only option is an outdoor long dining table, or you can bring breakfast back to your room. The in‑room coffee maker was a strange four‑step device that we had to learn to use, and the coffee it produced was poor—just put a Keurig in the room! There was no Kleenex box, which is a basic hotel amenity. The room lacked a proper dresser; we used a floor‑level cabinet next to the sink instead. We stored folded clothes on the open shelving and used the open closet, which only had four hangers, but the staff brought four more when asked. Most of our clothes ended up in our suitcases.
