“Angling and the lodge....”

I spent a fishing weekend at the Old Post Office Lodge, and the spot is perfect for the Erne and nearby waters. Craig, the new owner, welcomed me warmly and kept a close eye on things. The continental breakfast worked for me even though I was out early; Craig had already set out a great selection of breads, jams, cereals, and other condiments. The building itself is lovely, with charming interiors and furniture that match the character. I liked hanging out in the downstairs common room, reading or watching TV in the evenings. Craig was kind enough to add extra heat when the temperature dropped to minus 3 on Boxing Day. I do expect that some changes might happen soon since the lodge is under new management. A few guests have mentioned that there’s no TV in the rooms, but that didn’t bother me.

The accommodation was first‑class and spotless. We arrived late, and the host was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Even though we stayed just one night, I’d definitely return. I’ll always remember the great hospitality. It would be nice if the lodge had more lighting at the entrance.

“Warm welcome and comfy bed”

The bed was comfortable, the welcome was warm, and there were electric charging points for the car.
