“Mid week trip”

Everything location staff and food. If I was going to be really picky I prefer to have a fresh pot of tea served, not a jug of warm water. Giles was brilliant and so welcoming. Can not wait to stay again. Never asked his name but the Irish gentleman on morning check out was great as well. At dinner we had the battered haddock and chips. We know our fresh fish as we often travel 5 hours to Fleetwood for fresh and this fish was good good and the batter and chips. Oh I could go on. Hey what is not to like!! Try it. Pleanty of parking

“Great stay with lovely staff”

The staff were friendly and the room was lovely and comfortable. However, the cigarette bin in the car park was full and the dead plants outside gave a bad impression. Inside the building, though, everything was lovely.

“Lovely stopover for National trust visits.”

We booked a small room that was adequate for one night, and the breakfast—included in the price—was very good. The staff were very helpful, and I would recommend this place. We parked around the back of the property. The Indian restaurant was just around the corner and served very delicious food. The only issue was that the fan made a bit of noise.

This is a wonderful little hotel with lots of thoughtful touches and great staff. The value is excellent and the breakfast is amazing. Nothing to complain about—great value for money.

“Delightful stay in a 17th century pub.”

The stay was very comfortable in a beautiful petite room with great facilities. We appreciated the extra touches and loved our breakfast.
