The vibe was great and the staff were super friendly, making the whole experience enjoyable.
This cozy spot is gorgeous and full of intriguing details to explore. The hosts are fantastic, and the breakfast tastes amazing. The hostel sits on a slight hill but is very close to a nearby shrine, which is pretty cool.

What a great hostel! It felt like home, with a fantastic common area, comfy beds, and plenty of space for your stuff. The owner and staff were incredibly welcoming and nice. I’d recommend the breakfast. It’s also a small café from 2-5, so you can grab drinks and food during those hours.
The public area was fantastic, stocked with plenty of books, perfect for lounging with coffee and a bit of daydreaming. I’d suggest adding breakfast to your stay – it was delicious! The afternoon tea was also great. The slope in Otaru is a bit steep, so carrying large luggage can be a bit of a hassle.
