The building sits in a beautiful park. It needs renovation, but the price is fair for what you get.

It’s a beautiful, relaxed spot surrounded by nature, and the hotel is renovating in August, so by September it will be even nicer with new furniture and updated rooms that are simple and rustic but pleasant. The staff are very friendly and helpful; they gave us directions to local museums, and Cecilia arranged a private Parmigiano Reggiano tour with tasting at a local larder, which is hard to find when traveling alone or with family. Thank you, Cecilia, for that. Breakfast was also really nice. The area around the hotel is rustic with a park nearby, and you can walk a few steps to the city of Albinea to taste real rustic Italy. We heard live music in the city and found restaurants for dinner. From the hotel you’re close to Modena, Reggio Emilia, and Parma, where you can visit great museums for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Pagani, and food museums for gourmands.

The building set in the greenery is certainly easy on the eyes, the breakfast was plentiful and served beyond the scheduled time, cleaning was excellent with plenty of towels, and the staff were very friendly, but there was a lot of noise despite the hotel being away from traffic – thin walls let us hear other guests’ voices in the middle of the night, staff chatter in the corridor during morning cleaning, and, unfortunately, a tree was being cut down with a chainsaw from 8:00 to 10:00 on Saturday right outside our window, which could have been scheduled differently; also, a refill of bathroom soap would have been nice as it was barely enough between the sink and the shower in the summer heat.
