“BEST CHOICE for Quito Airport and Stay... GREAT HOST!”
Staying with Pat made our Quito and Ecuador trip memorable. My cousin and I, both single women, felt safe and confident thanks to Pat’s quick and helpful responses about getting to Mitad del Mundo and Quito’s historic center. Getting around in Ecuador is tricky—changing buses, long mountain rides, and early curfews cut touring time. We arrived early in the morning and Pat met us at the airport for the agreed $7 transfer. He also offered breakfast as a bonus, so we were well fed before heading to Mitad. We chose a private tour with him because we didn’t want to be stranded there without a return ride; a bus would have taken 3–4 hrs total and eaten into our day. Pat waited patiently while we enjoyed the monument and museum. He’s fluent in English and German and full of useful information. We also liked hanging out with other guests. We ordered a pizza from his kitchen for $10 and a bottle of Chilean wine for $8. His beds and room were comfortable and clean. We left very late the next day and he let us store our bags for free until we returned at night, then gave us a ride to the airport (prearranged $7 transfer). We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and HIGHLY recommend it to solo travelers or non‑Spanish speakers. The property is gated and secure.
