The place looked stylish at first glance, but the location in Wakayama city means the price should come with proper cleaning and management. The bathroom was on an upper floor and almost outdoors, so it was freezing in winter and the next day the room felt very cramped. The sink had been unused for a while, so when I turned on the tap a copper‑red water poured out and gave me a chill. I had already undressed because I was going to take a bath, so after running the tap for about three minutes the color and odor disappeared and I had no choice but to use it. I checked in late, which made it hard to contact the host for help. The room’s rug was dusty and I couldn’t take off my slippers. The kerosene lamp that was left in the room ran out after an hour, and I noticed a gas‑pipe smell from the gas valve. Very disappointing.
