The sauna, pond, buffet, terrace, and garden quiet were all fantastic, but the place needs a renovation.

The place was quiet and peaceful, a real zen spot, yet the Wi‑Fi cuts off after 23:00 and the network quality is poor. The open hours for the outdoor and indoor pools as well as the sauna at 19:00 feel a bit early for summer. The dinner menu is tasty but the selection is limited and no prices are listed. The 18:00/19:30 schedule is also restrictive, and a small lounge bar would have been nice.

The spa was a quiet retreat, the only noise coming from a minor roof renovation on one of the buildings, which was about 3 hours loud but didn’t ruin the fun. Because there were few guests, it felt even more peaceful. On the trip, I was seated at a table with other solo travelers – unexpected, but it made the days even more enjoyable. Tip: book a massage or similar in advance to increase the chances of availability.

This place is a unique spot in the world, offering healthy, organic, homemade food—including bread—that’s delicious. The gentle hikes through hills and vineyards were gorgeous, accompanied by birdsong, and the room had everything needed plus a nice balcony. The fasting program was very supportive and well organized, and the full board with spa amenities was great value. The front desk staff seemed challenged by the English/German language barrier, and at times they appeared a little annoyed when asked for help with various inquiries or questions. It’s not the “solicitous” service attitude one gets in US boutique hotels, probably just a cultural difference.
