Always lovely to sit on the verandah and experience some Ned Kelly history

Communication with the hosts was great, and the historic hotel itself is beautiful. The location in town is ideal for sightseeing, parks, and playgrounds. It’s also close to the local IGA and great take‑away food spots. The old‑fashioned verandah is wonderful for sitting and viewing the town.

I love staying at a historic hotel and celebrating Ned Kelly, the Aussie legend. It’s a fun place to visit overall, with great food nearby. There’s a great park with an awesome children’s playground just across the road, and the information centre is also close by. The staff are wonderful if you want to learn more about Jerilderie and its surroundings.

The host is incredibly kind, sweet, and attentive to every guest, making the place feel very welcoming and friendly. We keep coming back because we love how we’re treated and the great value of the rooms; highly recommend.

Nothing positive! Everything was a disaster. The hotel was closed and there was no one around. A sign said “Hotel closed” but the accommodation ring number worked; we called and someone arrived in about 5 minutes. She showed us our room and there was no one else there. We asked if we could use the microwave and she replied yes. We used it for a frozen meal and said we’d have toast in the morning. The toaster was covered in thick dust, dirt, and who knows what else. I put rubbish in the bathroom bin because there was no other bin in the kitchen area, but the bin was half full. In our room I tried to add more to a bin and it was full of coke cans. We don’t drink coke! It had not been cleaned out. My husband then turned down the bed and it was used; the sheets were crumpled. We both felt a shiver of disgust and total uncleanliness! It hadn’t even been made properly. If the sheets were that bad, how could we lay in that bed with whatever germs and stains were on them, and the pillows were the same. The spare pillows on the spare bed were covered in dust. We immediately called another motel and within less than 10 minutes we were allowed to inspect their room before checking in. We moved to the new motel, which was very clean and comfortable. We returned the key this morning and when my husband was asked if he had a good sleep he just answered yes (because it wasn’t at the filthy Royal Mail Hotel). We have no desire to list everything that was bad. We have stayed at a Royal Mail Hotel in another state and it was wonderful. We thought we would have the same experience. NO WAY!! We lost our money on this place and paid for a new motel but we were clean and healthy. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE.
