Located in Heusden, in den Verdwaalde Koogel offers simply furnished rooms with free Wi-Fi, a 10-minute drive from National Park De Loonse en Drunense Dunes. The hotel’s location by the lively fish market and its excellent restaurant were big pluses. Unfortunately, it was quite hot inside the restaurant.

The room was clean, the bed was great, the shower was good, and the breakfast was generous.

Friendly staff, Heusden is beautiful and atmospheric and the hotel too, but the room fittings are basic and outdated, like a shower curtain and a shower rod that breaks from rust, a loose toilet seat, and broken spotlights.

Perfect location, also close to Efteling. The surroundings are lovely. A very nice little town. The room was otherwise great but it was very, very dusty. I could scrape off layers of dust with my fingers everywhere, even in places you don’t usually look… Not great for me as an allergy sufferer.
