The staff were excellent and the location was fantastic, but the resort fees are very expensive and only revealed at checkout. The rooms are spacious yet very dated and worn out, clearly needing an upgrade.

The location is great with views of Waikīkī beach and Honolulu, and the breakfast buffet is good with pleasant staff. Check‑in isn’t on the ground level; the only elevator is on the other side of the property, so you have to carry heavy bags up the escalators.

I paid a high price for a beachfront room (note that the sea‑view rooms only offer a sliver of the ocean), but it was worth it. From the balcony you can see the neighboring hotel, yet lying on the chaise lounge you get a full view of the pale blue sea. After a day of sun‑baked outdoor activities, coming back to this room felt wonderful. Located in the heart of Waikiki, everything is convenient: the hotel is right below ABC, and Target is a 10‑minute walk (much cheaper than ABC). The hotel’s classes were fun—I tried ukulele and flower crown making. They also provide unlimited beach towels and chairs, so I spent a few days just strolling nearby and soaking in the sea. At first I worried the interior might be old, but it turned out to be fully modern; only the door looked simple, but the décor is luxurious, so no worries.

The hotel’s location is the best in Waikiki, so you can step into the sea barefoot across the street every day, and I was assigned a room with an excellent view, letting me enjoy morning coffee and the scenery often. Despite being a large facility, the operating systems are well integrated, making it convenient to use. The environment was clean with no insects, and the housekeeping and towel changes were frequent, which I appreciated. One blackout curtain fell and was missing, so I could only use the semi‑opaque interior curtain, but overall the room condition was so good that I decided not to switch rooms. Waikiki’s west‑side beach is famous for sunsets, so the early morning direct sunlight was a bit uncomfortable, and the noise from the adjacent room sometimes bothered me.
