The NH Collection Heidelberg, a 4-star superior hotel, features large, air-conditioned rooms, a fitness centre, and spa with steam room and sauna. Built in 1907 as a brewery, it boasts dark woods and warm colours. Located 10 minutes from Heidelberg Main Train Station, it's close to River Neckar, old town, and Odenwald Forest, with free WiFi and bicycle rentals available.

The reception staff were very friendly and upbeat, and Maya was helpful with local tips; the room was roomy, spotless, and the bed and pillows were the best we’ve had on this trip; we had a corner room with large windows that let in fresh air; the Nespresso machine was a highlight; the hotel is close to a tram/bus line and only a few stops from the city center; we parked our car in the garage while we explored town the next day; the Italian restaurant next door was also great; everything was excellent.

The staff were friendly and professional, and the underground parking offered eight charging stations. Breakfast was exceptional, and the neighbourhood was quite pleasant. The room on the fourth floor was spacious but bland and dark, with small windows and only a few light fixtures; it had a bathtub instead of a proper shower. Maybe an interior designer should be involved. The room also came with complimentary water and coffee/tea in the room.
