“Yeah it was alright!”

We booked months in advance and received a good room that comfortably fit three people and four suitcases. Walking past other rooms, I wasn’t sure where guests would store luggage. The bunk bed ran wall to wall, and overall the place was clean and comfortable for our single night. The bathrooms were suitably private, each with a shower room and separate toilet, and towels, linen, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided in the shower. The rooms might be very small, and I’m not sure there were any communal spaces beyond the ground‑floor bar. The staff didn’t inform us about the facilities, so we didn’t know a fridge or microwave was on our floor.

“Absolut nicht empfehlenswert – schreckliche Erfahrung”

Book this hostel? No way. We definitely won’t come back and can’t recommend it because of the bad conditions and especially the manager’s behavior. Our stay was a huge disappointment: we slept in a dorm that was extremely cramped, had almost no space to store our stuff, and the air conditioning didn’t work. The windows were closed and couldn’t be opened, so there was no way to ventilate the room. The air was extremely stuffy, there was an unpleasant dampness, and a strong, musty odor that even stuck to our clothes. The showers were dirty and the whole place was too cramped. The staff were unfriendly. The atmosphere was far from welcoming, and there was no sense of community you’d expect from a hostel. What was especially scary was an incident with the manager, Leiki: around 1:30 am he unannounced entered our room and woke us up. He threatened that we’d have to leave the hostel and that he would kick us out because we had opened the door once to let in some fresh air. That reaction was completely disproportionate and frightened us. We were two solo female travelers and felt totally unsafe. A manager showing up in the middle of the night, waking guests, and threatening to evict them is absolutely unacceptable. In short, it was a terrible experience where none of the basic requirements for cleanliness, comfort, safety, or hospitality were met. Don’t book this hostel. We won’t return and can’t recommend it for any reason.

“Absolut NICHT empfehlenswert”

I would rather go elsewhere—absolutely not recommended. The dorms were extremely tight, offered no storage, had no working air conditioning, and the windows were locked shut, preventing ventilation. The air was stale, humidity was high, and the smell was so bad that even our clothes smelled afterward. The showers were dirty, the staff unfriendly, and there was no pleasant hostel atmosphere. Overall it was a very disappointing experience; we didn’t feel comfortable at all and definitely won’t return. Not recommended under any circumstances.

“風呂に入って寝るだけだったので、高いホテルに泊まることを考えたら安くて快適でした！”

The shower room and toilet were clean, and the futon was fluffy and comfortable. I was in a six‑person room on the second bed, and when the curtains were pulled closed in the morning the room was dim; trying to get out of bed I hit my knee hard because it was so narrow. The person sleeping below was probably shocked. Anyone with a larger body or who can’t move quickly might find it tough.
