The carpet was disgusting, the decor and furniture looked dated, and the bathroom light flickered; there was no bedside lamp, so I had to rely on the harsh overhead light or turn everything off. When I asked reception for a lamp, they suggested I just switch off the lights. The whole place felt weird, and despite the beautiful building, everything was tired, dated, and poorly executed, with no bar facilities. It felt like a motel and I wouldn’t come back, so I rate it 3.0/10.

The building looked nice from the outside, but inside the room the bed was bad—springs were noticeable, so we didn’t sleep well. There was no kettle in the room, and the bathroom was moldy with no bath plug, so I rate it 5.0/10.

We stopped at the hotel for the night because we were attending an event. The exterior looked nice, but the building clearly needs a full renovation. It’s sad to see such a beautiful, stately home in such disrepair. The hotel is very old and worn out, the towels were grey, and I had to request a kettle and an extra mug; it definitely needs a complete revamp, so I give it a 4.0/10.

The reception had an overwhelming food smell, and the room felt more like a hostel or homeless shelter than a hotel, with a very low standard overall.
