The room was roomy, the staff were very friendly and the location was convenient, and I loved the cats roaming around the grounds. However, the room was still warm when we arrived and needed to be cooled down; the A/C and TV remotes were broken, and the grounds were poorly maintained.

The size of the 1 bedroom. 1. It is a run down Inn, pictures from the website is very misleading. 2. Partial ocean view-none. 3. No beach whatsoever. 4. Bathroom has rust spots 5. The cafe on site is closed. 6. Outside cushions need to be replaced. 7. Furniture tables and tv cabinet are beat up. 8. Not worth the $1,000 a night

Everything was great: the staff were amazing, the room comfortable, the bed cozy, and the sitting area with free coffee was nice. The beachfront patio was cool, and the location near restaurants, shops, and a good base for exploring the Road to Hana and Haleakala was perfect. I was nervous about booking because of some reviews, but don’t hesitate—this place is great, not perfect, but well worth the price. The AC could be cooler, a microwave would be handy, and a little maintenance would help.

Cute historic hotel, great location, no real beach access during our stay, expensive for this property, nice staff, good coffee in the morning. 100 year hotel with charm, excellent location in a cool old Hawaiian town. It was cute and nice people but expensive even for Hawaii especially without and direct beach accessibility
