We arrived in windy weather and couldn’t swim, so we rented a car from Rent Car next to the hotel for two days and then swam at Tshambika Beach, where the sand was fine and a 2‑day beach chair and umbrella cost 15 €. The car rental for two days was 70 €, which covered the places we wanted to visit. No deposit was required; we inspected the car, the damages were noted, and we returned it. At IXIA Beach we just walked, the kids collected pebbles, and we sun‑bathing and strolling were pleasant. The beach was pebbly and not the cleanest, so we had to watch where we stepped. The restaurant offered a generous menu and we always ate well. A hand sanitizer was at the restaurant door, which we used because there were many people and we feared catching something. At the Pool Bar we could eat from 12:00 to 16:00, with ice cream, drinks, beer, and coffee available. We could bring food and drinks into our room without being asked. The hotel itself was very beautiful, the staff extremely friendly, cleaning daily, changing towels on request, although our English was limited, so communication was a bit awkward but they understood what we wanted. Two supermarkets were nearby, so we could easily get what we needed. The surroundings were gorgeous, and the hotel area was very tidy. Every evening there was a program, which unfortunately didn’t interest my family, so we didn’t join, but we could watch the kids’ show from our room. A slide and a climbing frame were beside the kids’ pool, which my 4‑year‑old son liked. The plastic cups at the Pool Bar were off‑putting even with a straw. The toilet next to the pool had an unpleasant odor that bothered me. The pool water was very cold, and we could only enjoy it briefly because the wind was blowing and we were uncomfortable at 26 °C. At arrival there was one bottle of water in the fridge, which was not refilled later, so we bought a bottle of mineral water at the shop. Our room faced a courtyard on the ground floor, which didn’t bother us. A “kind” guest on the upper floor threw cigarette butts and half‑eaten fruit, which is not the hotel’s fault but human stupidity. Our room had a king bed, but the kids were afraid to sleep on it, so we removed the mattresses from the bed. There was no sofa or armchair in the room, which we missed. My son wanted to swim in the Pirate Ship pool, but we didn’t let him because the water was terribly cold, which I regret because he had been looking forward to it for weeks. Next to the pool was a “playhouse”‑like place, but it was in terrible condition, full of flies, with old, outdated equipment and a leaking ceiling. We didn’t visit it during our stay. A slide and a climbing frame were also there, which my 4‑year‑old son liked.
