“Good value, clean, quiet and great central location.”
The place is great, very clean and quiet even though it’s in the city centre. I was at the Colchester summer festival at the castle, and it was literally just a few minutes’ walk from the accommodation, which is also near shops, cafés, etc., and the railway station. It felt very safe because of the coded entrance door outside and another one to get into the building. The bedroom door also had a code instead of a key. The room was nicely furnished, and a portable fridge was provided along with tea/coffee making facilities. I’d recommend this place and would stay again. The downside is that there’s an outside staircase and another inside to climb to the top‑floor room; it was fine for one night with a small suitcase, but it could be harder with heavier bags. Also having three codes to remember means you need to keep the email with the details handy on your phone so you can get back in. No other negatives, it’s great value.
