An amazing older house just for us on the outskirts of Takayama’s old town, surrounded by temples. We were allowed to check in early and received a welcome cup of sake! The owner was very friendly and gave us many tips about places to visit and the town’s history. We also had free access to a fantastic public bath just around the corner, popular with locals for its quality. I’m glad we booked this place for the festival and hope to return.
