The setup was practical with a modern bathroom and clean. After a hilly bike ride and arriving at 5 pm, we found the gate locked. No bell or phone call worked, and the Booking number didn’t trigger a response. By chance a friendly lady appeared after about 30 min, she knew the owner and called him. There’s a key box at the gate that opens with a code, but we didn’t know it. She let us in and into a room that wasn’t the one we had booked and confirmed long ago. About 5 min later the owner arrived. We asked why we were in a different room; he said other guests stayed longer and the room would suit them better. Our current room was much smaller, had no fridge, no balcony as booked, and was on the ground floor (see photo). He offered no apology for having us stand outside the gate, which we would normally be upset about, and didn’t even mention whether we had booked breakfast. He seemed to have not expected us and was otherwise uncooperative. In the room we found the Wi‑Fi so weak it wouldn’t connect, and the curtain (by the courtyard window) couldn’t be closed without manual effort. So we decided to find a nicer spot for breakfast the next morning, informed him via Booking message, and left by 9 am. The price reduction we requested for the subpar room without breakfast didn’t match our expectations. The reply via Booking with the attached invoice shows that the issue wasn’t understood. We’ve spent the whole week cycling to various accommodations and have always been satisfied, but here we didn’t feel welcome as guests.

The place was absolutely gorgeous – everything from the décor to the surroundings felt just right, and I left feeling totally refreshed.

“Ruhige, gemütliche Unterkunft”

Loved the huge terrace and the fridge stocked with wine, and the host was genuinely friendly. Parking was a bit of a squeeze on the narrow street in front, but we managed to get a spot without too much hassle.

The room was spotless, which I appreciated, but the breakfast was pretty weak and there wasn’t anything interesting to do around the hotel.
