“Ainda e sempre, o melhor lugar do Meco.”
It’s the nth time I’ve come to Casal do Frade and it somehow keeps getting a little better each time. I love the large house and the smaller ones, being inside (especially in the living room) and outside (on the porch, under the pergola, by the pool, walking through the pine forest – hard to pick a favourite). I appreciate how it’s both a well‑kept, unpretentious place, with the owners and staff’s huge friendliness, always available, yet they can become invisible and let us feel at home. I like the breakfast, the décor details, the excellent price‑quality ratio, and especially the unseen: the magic/mysticism/magnetism of this place – the peace we feel as soon as we arrive. A haven of refuge, always and forever. This house is not mine.
