The hotel is charming, the location is superb, and the staff were friendly. It gets noisy at night, with freight trains passing nearby and student bars close by; the noise persisted until about 2 am, after which it calmed down.

The room was comfortable with fun décor and the front lobby staff were friendly. It was a bit noisy at night, especially when trains ran through. Our phones couldn’t mirror the TV for extra viewing options, and there was no coffee brewer—only instant coffee.

Walking distance to historic Charlottesville downtown and UVA made it convenient, and the stay was very inexpensive for a single night while still being close to various restaurants and sights in the historic region. The front‑desk staff were super friendly and offered complimentary locally roasted coffee in the morning. Knowing the hotel sits near student housing, they provided free earplugs and eye masks to help guests sleep. The décor has a cute 1950s beach house motel vibe, making the unit very charming. The room we stayed in was very clean and looked newly renovated. Parking was a bit tricky because you could choose free on‑street parking near the student rental houses or pay an extra $20 for a spot in the nearby parking garage. We opted for the garage because a summer orientation party in early July 2026 had the entire district around the hotel filled with students partying and hanging out—a situation we were unaware of. If you want a quieter stay away from student partying, this isn’t for you. We stayed in a first‑floor unit, and above us there were partygoers walking in and out of their units, so we could hear talking, music, laughing, and footsteps. If you go when students have finished their semesters or during a time away from summer student orientations/events, then this is a great place to stay.

Cute, efficient, well designed, and FANTASTIC location 3 minute walk from UVA campus and tons of eating options at great prices. Staff was helpful on every aspect. The record player with Senatra was a hoot!. No parking on the premises (street parking or $25/night at nearby parking garage), but hey, that’s Charlottesville all over
