We stayed at Baglio SantaCroce for two pleasant nights in a characteristic building well‑situated in the area. The pool, a beautiful deep blue, was enhanced by hand‑painted decorative tiles and even features the hotel’s logo on the bottom, a unique detail that makes it unmistakable. Guest loungers are available and there’s a lovely garden beneath the pool where you can chat, relax, or simply enjoy fresh air in the evening. Our room was spacious and clean, with somewhat dated furnishings that were overall well‑kept and in keeping with the property’s character. We especially liked the large window overlooking the pool and, in the background, the sea—a truly pleasant view. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the peaceful atmosphere of the Baglio. One area that could be improved is breakfast; given the level and price range, we expected a richer selection. By 8:30 am, for example, the savory options were largely finished. For sweet items, there were a few in‑house croissants, one fresh cake, and the usual accompaniments of butter and jam. Fruit was mostly preserved, with fresh bananas that day being rather ripe. Nothing broke the stay, but it is an aspect that could be enhanced to make the experience even more complete and aligned with the property. Dinner can also be had on site, a convenient service that we recommend booking in advance.
