The accommodation is very clean, the host is friendly and helpful, and the location is great—many sights in Ventspils are within walking distance. I’d definitely come back.

It was a very clean place with good showers, the owner is a kind, friendly lady, and it’s a safe spot with plenty of hot water. The supermarket is nearby, and I could cycle safely and lock my bike there—something I can’t say for all the hostels I’ve stayed in, so this place is A1. No negatives.

Clean. The host was dissatisfied, saying that despite me indicating a child would be with us, there was nowhere for the child to sleep. How can you rent a room with two single beds for three people? We were told we should have known, and now we have to buy a sofa bed for 30 euros for two nights and pay for pillows, blankets, and linens if we didn’t bring them. We were shocked. Later they offered to move the beds, but the wide wooden frame made a huge hole; they suggested putting the spare blanket in the hole and charging extra for an extra blanket. It was very unpleasant to be treated like idiots. The beds had winter warm blankets and thin foam pillows. In summer it was a mockery.

The spot was spot on – right next to a park, fountains, a concert hall and the city center. The hosts were super friendly, the sauna was fantastic, and the price even covered the sauna brooms and a relaxation spot!

I liked the place – it was quiet, straightforward communication, and the vibe was chill. The only gripe was that there was no coffee and the shower height couldn’t be adjusted.
