I was blown away by the host’s friendliness and flexibility. The tiny room was on the 4th floor of a lift‑free building, yet he still carried our heavy luggage up and down. When we had to leave at 03.00 the next morning, he was up and moving our bags down again. Even though he didn’t speak English, we managed to talk via WhatsApp with the translation feature. A top guy! The only downside was the lack of a fridge in the room, though the air‑conditioner worked great.

The place had fairly new finishes and furniture, and the espresso machine was good—just keep an eye on it so it doesn’t overflow. The staff were rude and rarely around. At checkout, the sole staff member pretended he couldn’t see me pointing at my suitcases when I asked if he could carry them down the four flights of stairs. He smirked and said, “Sorry, I don’t speak English,” even though we’d chatted in English earlier. He understood enough to know what I was asking but acted like he didn’t want to try. His handshake when I left was rough and odd. If you’re not into foreigners, that’s fine, but don’t work in the hotel business.
