The property feels like it has a cool backstory, but that story isn’t really shared or preserved; the price was decent for what you get. It’s a shared house with a meeting space and a book‑donation spot. I stayed 5 days as a solo female traveler. If you like walking around the city or using public transport, remember this spot sits uphill from the sights, so you’ll have to climb 10‑15 minutes on some streets that are almost just stairs, like from Martim Moniz plaza. The place isn’t super clean and needs renovation, maintenance and design work. The carpet is stained, and several parts of the house make a lot of noise when you walk because of the wood. Once I went to the shower and saw blood stains on the floor – probably a period – and the only showers are on the ground floor, so you might see that if you walk to your room. It’s normal and fine, but could bother others passing by. There’s no barrier on the balcony in case someone has bad intentions, so rooms can be accessed unless you close everything, which then blocks fresh air; in my room I had no windows, only big doors that opened onto the terrace (30 degrees during the day, 15 at night). I didn’t see a recycling bin inside the shared house, but right in front you can recycle easily (glass, paper, plastic, all).
