Located in a 19th-century pub, The Black Dog Inn is a 10-minute drive from Dorchester town centre and offers free private parking. The hotel features an outdoor children's playground, a traditional bar serving real ales, and a restaurant serving full English breakfasts and evening menus. Soundproofed rooms have flat-screen TVs, en suite bathrooms, and tea/coffee facilities.

The hotel sits in a very pleasant village with easy access to the A35 and Weymouth nearby; the staff were very friendly, the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and we enjoyed breakfast and lunch at the pub, which were both very good. The only drawback was the busy road outside with no pavement on either side for a short stretch.

Great B&B to explore the Lulworth Cove / Durdle door. The guy managing the Inn (I think John) is great. Very helpful and & welcoming. The breakfast was great and overall food quality was pretty good. In-room wifi coverage could be better

The place looks really cute inside and out, with children’s playgrounds in the garden. Our room was huge, split into two spacious areas, and the bathroom was larger than what I’ve seen elsewhere. Breakfast was made fresh, included in the rate, and offered a good variety beyond the usual Anglo‑Saxon spread. We dined at the pub and found the price‑to‑quality ratio excellent.
