Breakfast selection and quality were very good. The rooms were very spacious, clean and had good quality bedding. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower. Staff were helpful and pleasant. I tried to book treatments three weeks before arrival but there was no availability – very disappointing since one of the reasons for staying there was to relax, be pampered and destress. The request for rooms to be near each other was confirmed but they ended up on different floors with many stairs to navigate. The bathroom lacks space for toiletries – no shelving or room to put them.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Ambleside. Our room was very modern and spacious with a hot tub outside. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linen and towels. We slept very well. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Lovely bar & lounge area decorated beautifully and very comfortable and chilled. Outside area was lovely to sit out for a drink watching the world go by. The spa area was very nice, clean, lighting was very relaxing. Pool was lovely, quiet and a good temperature. Great gym with plenty of equipment. The changing area at the spa didn’t smell too great. I think there may have been a drain issue.

The facilities inside and outside the room were solid. The room itself could have been a touch larger. Unfortunately, the restaurant's food quality has slipped over the past two years; the chef needs to master cooking a steak properly and ensure the chips are fully cooked instead of still half raw.
