“Never again”
The location was convenient, but the experience was disastrous. My grandson suffered a burn from a heater, and my daughter and her husband had to stay overnight at the hospital while the baby received treatment on the resort’s second day. I called the resort, yet they never returned the promised call to allow us to file a report. My grandson required multiple follow‑up hospital visits and skin graft surgery because of the incident. On the checkout date, a power outage made leaving extremely difficult; the staff didn’t inform us, elevators were out, and we had to use the stairs with two 1‑year‑olds and a 7‑year‑old. Gates wouldn’t open for our cars, and residents had to push them open until we could exit. Doors to the building were jammed, forcing us to bang on them and windows until someone opened. The staff were incredibly rude, even claiming they didn’t work for the resort while they sat at the front desk during my morning walk, and they closed the door on us after collecting our keys. The cleaning lady was kind and waited at the door as we dragged luggage and kids down the stairs, but she was deaf, so communication was impossible. I called the resort again after leaving items behind during the chaotic checkout, and I was promised a callback. They left a message asking for a credit card to mail back items, but never mentioned my grandson’s burn. When I called back, I was asked for a credit card to send the items back, but she didn’t realize I had already sent someone the previous day and they had collected the items. When I asked if they would address the burn, the agent basically said they gave no warning signs on the heater because everyone knows not to touch hot surfaces. I didn’t know babies knew things like this. I own many homes, including one in California, and I have never had a heater in the location of this particular heater (in wall, calf height near floor) or had one that could burn a child so badly.
