The Wave Resort

We were told after booking but before arrival that the neighboring hotel was under construction, and our apartment on level 8 was right on the same level, so the noise was constant—fine during the day, but the site started around 6:30 am every morning.

“Very disappointing”

The spot is easy to get to and close to plenty of restaurants and activities, and the lower pool was nice, though I can’t comment on the upper pool because it was closed. We felt cheated on value for money: a brief email mentioned nearby construction and apologized, but the works were only 20 m from our bedroom window, waking us at 5 am every day, and there was no discount, rate upgrade, or any compensation. Paying nearly 3 k for a week, a “city view” that’s just a construction site is poor form. The room card had to be tapped to access the car park, elevators, and building, which was a bit ridiculous. There was no cold water in the room, and the bathroom felt a bit shabby, but otherwise the room was acceptable.

The 3‑bedroom apartment was very spacious, had a full kitchen and a separate laundry, and the view from the 29th floor was amazing. The kids loved the pool and spa pool, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The toilet in the main bathroom was a bit hard to flush most of the time.

“When building work complete, will stay again.”

The apartment was superb, with large balconies and quality fittings and facilities; the shower was the best ever. The higher swimming pool area was closed for work, but the lower pool was great. The building work at the adjacent property was obviously not The Wave’s fault, but it was disruptive with a noisy start at 6 am.
