The little family hotel is brand‑new and spotless, tucked into the foothills of the Rila range – perfect if you want easy access to mountain walks and it’s only a short drive from the Chaira ski lift. The only hiccup was the morning shower: we had to wait at an open tap because there was no hot water. Overall a decent base for a few days in the hills.

The place feels fresh inside, even though from the street you can’t really tell it’s new; the surrounding area still looks a bit half‑finished, which isn’t a problem if you’re only staying a night or two. The exterior could use some work, but the rooms themselves are fine for a short break.

“Würde nicht nochmals kommen”

The house was undeniably clean and quiet, but getting there meant navigating bad roads through a rather bleak village with no restaurants nearby. While the double room was tidy, it was cramped for two people, the décor was minimal, and there was no bedside lighting, forcing us to read under a harsh ceiling lamp. With construction ongoing around the property and nothing appealing in the surroundings, we left after one night and found a much nicer apartment in Borovets for the same price.

We never received any information about breakfast – the owner said they’d text us whether it was included, but we’re still waiting for a reply, so we ended up without a morning meal.
