I spent a night at The Colombo House and it was spot on—spotlessly clean, cozy, and right in the middle of everything. The real highlight was the friendly uncle on staff who was always ready to help and made me feel right at home. If you want a warm, hassle‑free stay in Colombo, this is the place to go.

Check‑in was very late but without any hassle; they waited for me and gave a great first impression. Coffee was included in the morning, the interior was nice, and the staff were very hospitable, kind, and smiling. I slept soundly in a quiet spot with a big bathroom. The air‑conditioner worked and was quiet, and there was also a fan. The place is still pretty new, so you can see it’s a work in progress. On the downside, the place isn’t very welcoming; the entrance feels like a warehouse, which didn’t bother me much. I didn’t like being woken up at 7 am to tell me coffee was ready, and if I wanted to sleep longer, there was no hot water.
