The whole setting was calm and serene, with a pond, wide open space, and crisp fresh air far from the city. The house was comfortable, with large rooms, cozy beds and couches, and a fireplace to relax in on cold days and nights. However, the single bathroom had a shower that overflowed onto the toilet, the bathroom light was broken and never fixed during our stay.

The fireplace and the thoughtful bag of wood for chilly evenings were great, and the rooms were spacious with beautiful views; the host’s communication was excellent. However, the kitchen lacked basic utensils like scissors and a sharp knife or two.

The fireplace made the cottage cozy during the cold June stay, and the electric blankets on all beds kept us warm. Yet, the loadshedding—though beyond the owners’ control—was poorly communicated, with no real mitigation beyond a few candles. The oven didn’t work at all, the toaster worked only on one side, and the crockery and cutlery were basic, minimal, and not clean. The lighter failed after the first day, there was no provided tea or coffee, and only one ply toilet paper was supplied. All in all, it wasn’t worth the money, and when heading to Ceres side we’ll choose another place.

I had a mixed experience at this farm stay. On the plus side, I enjoyed taking a leisurely walk around the beautiful orchards. However, my relaxation was disrupted by the incessant noise from a heavy-duty water pump used for irrigation, located just 20 meters away from my cottage. This was particularly frustrating at night, as the tranquility of the rural setting was compromised. I reported the issue but didn't receive a prompt response from the owner, which was disappointing.
