“Great View over Harbour, But Needs a Little Work.”
Beautiful harbour view, close to town, helpful and friendly staff, nice jetty and swimming area, great use of paddle board, inflatable chairs, bikes and other gear, a nice lounge to relax on the balcony, a clothes line across each balcony, and homemade chia puddings for breakfast. I don’t like to write negatives, but if I don’t list them, nothing will change, and I wish I’d known about these things because I probably would have chosen differently. It was expensive for what was provided. Free breakfast was a bit hit‑and‑miss: it included fresh bread for toast and some spreads, but some days there was butter, other days there wasn’t. One day there was a plate of cut‑up fruit for guests, every other day no fruit. Homemade chia puddings were great. Coffee, tea, etc., some days there was milk, some days there wasn’t. And we arrived at breakfast at the allotted time and no one had turned the urn on for cups, so it took a long time to boil a drink. Our room needed maintenance. Most of the glass panes on the shutter windows wouldn’t close at night; some panes were totally missing, others cracked. Curtains were paper‑thin, had holes, and didn’t really cover the windows because the wind blew in all night and pushed them out of the way, so light came in. The dividing walls between rooms were also paper‑thin (I don’t think they were solid) and we were woken up most nights when we were asleep and people came back to their rooms noisily. The tap on the kitchen sink had no water; the tap in the bathroom basin didn’t overhang the sink, so it couldn’t be used even if there was water! The air conditioning should not be listed as being in the room, as all we had was a fan. The kitchenware listed was non‑existent. The first day we had to ask for an electric kettle, cups and bathroom towels as our room had nothing. It needs to be a bit better organized.
