The breakfast was great.

The hotel is fine, the front desk is very friendly. The room is pleasant, quiet, and has a balcony. The bathroom has everything needed. The location is lovely. The restaurant, however, is a complete insult: a glass of mineral water costs €4, and the menu offers either liver dumplings or lamb roast. The lamb was overcooked and served with a spoonful of red cabbage, a spoonful of cold green beans, a spoonful of mushrooms, and—only good thing—mashed potatoes, like leftovers, for €39.50. The small salad was okay.

There’s nothing worth mentioning except the location; the staff were unfriendly and the prices were inflated.

The hosts were loving and attentive, and the breakfast was excellent with a wide selection—five kinds of sausage (none factory‑made), cooked ham, smoked ham, two block cheeses plus packaged SB‑cheese, vegetables, fruit, jam, honey, quark, and yogurt, all lavishly arranged on the table. I received a brand‑new pan that could serve eggs for three people. Three different rolls (Bauernbrot from the baker), coffee, tea, and vespertine packs for lunch, along with coffee, tea, and juices were available (see photo of rolls, sausage, cheese, bread already in the vespertine pack in the backpack). The rooms were furnished like the 1960s but very clean, with a thorough wipe‑down in the bathroom, wardrobe, and carpeted floor. Dinner at the restaurant featured a sauce that was a bit odd (though optional), meat from the local farm that was tasty, and dumplings. The dinner price was high, but considering that the owners can only earn from Easter to the end of October, I was happy to spend the money. The hostess and a relative provided a loving service; everything felt like the 1960s but was clean and well‑maintained. Arrival was around 15:30 when I ordered a large pot of milk coffee and a sensational apple cake (a huge piece, said to be from the baker in the nearby town) at the kiosk on the parking lot. The parking lot, owned by the owner, is a frequent topic of complaints online about kiosk prices. Every highway rest stop offers coffee and cake, but also the own‑made bratwurst and other kiosk items are much more expensive. The huge parking lot was full of motorcycles (about 200?) and cars. Visitors bring noise, gas, drinks, and food, and complain because the owner charges 2 € for using his very well‑kept toilets. On the highway or at the DB you also pay for the toilet, but here, the stingy people go into the woods in crowds and leave their mess for the owner. The non‑appreciative behavior of the parking lot visitors was a real problem.

The rustic atmosphere and charming building are nice, and the staff are friendly, but the vibe in the hotel was odd—apparently I was the only guest, and there was a strange mood in the evening when the owner had a loud argument with a parked motorcyclist. Dinner was far too expensive; no menu was shown, only options were suggested, and I was charged 41,50 € per person for a soup, a small salad, and “Käsespätzle” with no obvious cheese and a small drink.
