Blue Lizard House

A wonderful spot to unwind, surrounded by plants and animals; it stays quiet at night and the air‑conditioning keeps you cool even when temperatures rise. Two friendly dogs and two sweet cats are cared for well on the grounds, and we even spotted lizards and hummingbirds. One important detail: there is no hot water in the shower, a fact mentioned in the listing but easy to miss (that was our experience). Also, the hotel is about 30 minutes by car from downtown San Andrés. In the evening it’s hard to find a nearby restaurant because most are closed; although a delivery list is provided, in practice all but one refused to deliver to the area. So if you arrive at night, you should have already eaten or have a rental car.

“de los mejores alojamientos de mi vida”

Everything! The site is a paradise. The room is comfortable, pretty, and huge. It’s on the south side of the island, in a quiet area that’s reachable by motorcycle in no time. Liz prepares delicious, filling breakfasts and gives you all kinds of tips for eating out and doing activities. The only downside is there’s no hot water, but given the climate it’s not a huge deal.

“Un paraíso isleño lleno de detalles y cuidado.”

The hosts are the absolute highlight, followed by the space itself; every detail feels intentional, and everything is impeccably clean. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the pool is ideal for adults, and the surrounding plants and quiet atmosphere add to the charm. The only downside is that the shops, even the small ones, are a bit remote, so the best—though not the only—option is to move around in vehicles like a Mule.

The staff’s friendliness, the room, the facilities, the garden, and the pool were all wonderful, and we even rented a cart at the hotel, which was fantastic.
